Though the second phase of pre-poll rigging is over. But the upper caste Hindus and their local allies having leads in India, have also opened a hell for the Scheduled Castes in Tharparker district bordering with India.

The upper caste Hindus' group led by Rana Chandar Singh and his local political allies have threatened the Scheduled Castes or Dalits of gangrapes, killings and dislodging from their ancestral abodes if they didn't vote for so-called upper caste candidates or those nominated by them.

Reports from country's border district of Tharparker reveal that gangrapes of poor Scheduled Castes women at the hands of Thakurs and their local allies including Arbab Group have become order of the day.

The harrassed victims and their relatives could not afford to complain as the long arm of Pakistani law of the land has yet to tighten its grip in this remote part of Pakistan.

Interestingly, all but one candidates contesting elections in Tharparker belong to Scheduled Castes.

Engr. Gianchand, a Scheduled Castes youngman, contesting elections against notorious Wadera Arbab Ghulam Rahim on a PPPP ticket alleged that Scheduled Castes voters have been made hostages on gunpoint.

It may be recalled that it was the same Arbab Ghulam Rahim who was involved in maintaning private jails and kidnapping of dozens of Punjabi girls case.

Rana Chandar Singh is supporting Arbab Ghulam Rahim on NA-229 and PS-60 while Arbabs are helping Rana Chandar Singh's nephew Rajeev Singh on PS-61. In all the seats, the Scheduled Castes voters have been made sandwitch between the upper castes and their allies.

Country's lone Scheduled Caste candidate Engr. Gianchand has appealed the President of Pakistan General Pervez Musharraf, Interior Minister General (Retd) Moeenuddin Haider and others to intervene and save the Scheduled Castes men, women and children from humiliation at the hands of upper caste Hindus and their local allies in Tharparker.

It is a sorry tale of persecuted minorities in Pakistan. How can Pakistani leaders complain about minorities in India or anywhere else when under their own noses such brutalities are common.
